DJKrust: Bristol Drum And Bass by Loopmasters is a new collection ofsamples from one of the early pioneers of Drum and Bass, and co-founderof the famous Bristol Sound, DJ Krust. Krust is the co-founder ofBristols Full Cycle crew (with Roni Size, DJ Die and SUV).
He ismuch noted in the Drum and Bass underground for his push-the-envelopeproductions both alone and in collaboration with Size.
Aftermeeting at the 1990 Glastonbury Festival, DJ Krust and Roni Size soonbegan to produce tracks together, often in collaboration with DJ Die andSUV.
The outfit recorded solo and in tandem for Bryan G andJumpin Jack Frosts V Recordings during the early 90s, but then in1992 formed the Full Cycle label which released several crucialsingles and the 1995 label retrospective Music Box.
DJ Krustcontinued to record for V and Full Cycle, and with Roni Size did remixesfor Goldie and fellow Bristol crew More Rockers. Sizes debut albumNew Forms, featuring considerable production help from Krust, hit themusic world like a bomb in 1997, leading to Krusts own major-labelcontract the following year.
Coded Language followed hisPolyGram debut, True Stories, in 1999. Krusts second album, HiddenKnowledge released on his own label Full Cycle in 2006 saw him continuewith his trade mark sound.
Bristol Drum And Bass is acollection of sounds and samples direct from the studio of DJ Krust, andshould inspire new and established DnB producers worldwide and giveaccess for the first time to some of the tones and sounds which havebeen responsible for a large chapter of Drum and Bass History.
Thepack weighs in at 500 MB and includes 390 Drum and Bass Samples,including 148 Loops and 242 One-Shot Samples. Also Included are 43ready-to-play patches for Reason NN-XT, Halion, EXS, SFZ and Kontaktcompatible soft samplers. Apple Loops, Reason Refill and Ableton Liveversions are also available to purchase separately.
